Embarking on a Fall Flavor Adventure: HEB's 2023 Lineup
Witches Brew Pumpkin Spice Wine
A pumpkin spice wine!? That's right. This wine comes from Leelanau Wine Cellars in Michigan and has apparently been sold at Trader Joe's for a few years. I watched some reviews from people who really liked it, so I'm on a mission to go try it for myself.
It’s apple wine with spices, supposedly in the middle between sweet and dry.
HEB Bakery Pumpkin Cheesecake Gourmet Cookies
So soft and delightfully spiced, these new gourmet cookies were a welcomed addition the the HEB Bakery Fall lineup, even if they could use a bit more cheesecake taste.
HEB Sushiya Harvest Roll
Many were skeptical of this combo with the "Fall Aioli" and pumpkin wrap around the sushi, but I honestly loved it. I did request a change from spicy crab filling to regular imitation crab.
The pumpkin wrap is a little sweet and the Fall Aioli isn't overpowering. 9/10 would get again. Watch my review here.
The Harvest Sushi Roll Has:
• Spicy imitation crab salad, cucumber and avocado rolled in sushi rice
• Outer mild pumpkin sushi wrapper
• Topped with fried onion flakes, green onion and aioli sauce
HEB Sushiya Fright Roll
Last year we saw our first Halloween-themed roll with the Spooky Calfornia Roll, and this year the Fright Roll was also added to the shelf.
The Fright Roll has:
• Imitation crab, spicy crunchies, avocado and cream cheese rolled in sushi rice
• Outer wrap of red seaweed (nori)
• Topped with sushi sauce and black sesame seeds
Stuffed Salted Caramel-Filled Marshmallows
Stuffed cookies & cream marshmallows are delicious, and this year I also saw a salted caramel flavor pop up for Fall. Not another pumpkin spice item, which sets this find apart.
Limited Edition Kombucha - Cherry Beet Trick or Treat
This is the first time I've seen a limited edition kombucha flavor at HEB.
Despite the Central Market title, this is just the store brand, and you can find these at some HEB's. Although, I've noticed they're missing from several of the stores I visit so it may be hit or miss.
Carmelia Creeper Cereal
Carmelia Creeper is the newest member of the Monster Mash cereal lineup, marking the first character introduction in over three decades. What sets her apart, however, is the intriguing caramel apple flavor she brings to the table.
According to General Mills, Carmelia is described as a "zombie DJ with a cutting-edge style, always infusing life into every party."
Sweet Potato Casserole Chips
Our only new limited-edition Fall chip flavor, joining the ranks alongside the returning favorites "Holiday Stuffing" and "Korean BBQ".
These are potato chips crafted with a sweet dusting, featuring notes of marshmallow, brown sugar, and sweet potato. As a fan of both sweet & savory chips, I like these, though perhaps slightly less so than some of their other inventive sweet chip creations.
Louisburg Cider Mill Pink Lady Apple Cider
We regularly purchase Louisburg Cider Mill Cider from HEB around the holidays and I was so excited to see a new option this year! This product also supports Susan G Komen.
Dandies Vegan Marshmallows - Pumpkin & Maple
Dandies vegan marshmallows had not one, but two Fall flavors on the shelf at my HEB stores this year. Pumpkin (featured) and a maple option too.
